About this event
After bringing Stephen King's novel "Misery" to the screen, William Goldman adapted it for the stage. In this tight, three-person play, the audience is invited into the home of Annie Wilkes, writer Paul Sheldon's No. 1 fan. She discovers him after an auto accident during a snow storm and brings him back to her home in the woods to care for him. At first, he's grateful for her care, but when Annie discovers that Paul has "killed off" her favorite character, Misery Chastain, Annie insists he undo the plot and bring her back to life, or his life may just get cancelled.
Directed by UND alum Ryan King. Performed by UND alumni Nicole Quam as Annie Wilkes and Matthew Stavens as the Sherriff, and introducting Matthew Rochat as Paul Sheldon.
Recommended for ages 16+ due to stage violence and strong language.
Co-produced with The Blue Moose Bar & Grill in EGF.
Listed by University of North Dakota (Localist) and Public Arts Commission (Squarespace), gathered by the Grand Forks events calendar.
