The 95th Annual Midwest Shrine Association Summer Session kicks off today at 6 p.m. in Crookston with a parade and will continue Friday with competitions at the Alerus Center and Grand Forks Fairgrounds (including a 2 p.m. Chanter Program at United Lutheran Church) before concluding Saturday with a parade downtown.

The North Dakota Game and Fish Department has issued 3,700 licenses for fall turkey hunting starting Oct.
10 until Jan. 3 — residents must apply online by Sept. 2 in the first lottery, and 13 hunting units have seen a reduction in license numbers compared to last year.
The North Dakota Game and Fish Department announced fall turkey season will offer 3,700 licenses for residents (610 fewer than last year in 13 of 21 hunting units).
Applicants must register online by Sept. 2 for a season running from Oct. 10 to Jan. 3.

Altru Health System will end its home health services on Sept.
1 (patients have been notified and are receiving help to transfer to other local agencies). The system will continue offering other home-based programs.
