➤ The University of North Dakota College of Engineering hosted the two-day North Dakota Signature VEX Robotics event Friday and Saturday at the Alerus Center where students built innovative robots with teacher guidance — UND President Andy Armacost said the event offered valuable exposure to careers in robotics, engineering and science. HEALTH NEWS

➤ State Sen. John Hoeven and Gov. Kelly Armstrong celebrated North Dakota’s $199 million rural health award from the federal Rural Health Transformation Program in late December, plus it is one of the nation’s largest per-capita grants over a five-year period. Knox News Radio
