- ➤ North Dakota farmers are learning about the new federal dietary guidelines (which favor more protein, full-fat dairy, whole grains and vegetables) that have led the Farmers Union to educate members on changing practices amid shifting consumer tastes. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ UND’s College of Nursing & Professional Disciplines launches the Pack the Pantry Campus Challenge to support students with food insecurity at Food For Thought (the campus pantry in the Memorial Union) from Feb. 19 to March 5. Teams and departments will collect pantry items and funds to help students. Knox News Radio
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ State Senate rejected the free school meal bill by a vote of 24 to 22 after the House passed it 55 to 38. The coalition is gathering signatures for a constitutional amendment to place free school meals on the November ballot. Knox News Radio
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ North Dakota Senators passed a bill for the Rural Health Transformation Program, allocating up to $397 million to boost rural telehealth and workforce training over the next two years. The measure now moves to Governor Kelly Armstrong’s desk for signature as plans from interested parties will soon be required. Valley News Live

- ➤ The WF Sheyenne Mustangs outlasted the Fargo South Bruins on Jan. 21; Quinn Skari joined the 1000 point club as the team secured a 34-point win led by Fargo Davies. Valley News Live
