ECONOMY NEWS

➤ North Dakota farmers will face more risk this spring as the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Risk Management Agency eliminated the extra prevented planting coverage last fall. The change means farmers can no longer buy additional protection when weather delays planting. Knox News Radio

EDUCATION NEWS

➤ The Grand Forks School Board approved over $4M in budget cuts for the 2026-2027 school year following a months-long realignment after a $4.4M deficit, and the cuts will reduce staff. Knox News Radio

HEALTH NEWS

➤ UND launched Gero-STARR—a program funded by a $3.6 million HRSA grant—to train eight nursing students from local rural areas and improve care for older adults. Each student has agreed to work in local hospitals or long-term care after graduation. Knox News Radio
