- ➤ UND's assistant director of Research & Sponsored Program Development, Diane Hillebrand, was elected vice-president/president-elect of the National Council of University Administrators last fall; she served as a key liaison for research funding since 1994. Knox News Radio
- ➤ The North Dakota State Board of Higher Education approved a new policy that requires future professors to earn a master’s degree before receiving tenure. The change will not affect current tenured faculty in the state system. Knox News Radio
- ➤ Chester Fritz Library acquired a 444-year-old book printed in Venice in 1582 & it now holds the oldest printed text in its Special Collections, narrowly replacing a 1599 Latin work as only 11 copies exist worldwide. Knox News Radio
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The National Weather Service in Grand Forks raised the spring flooding risk for the Red River Valley on Feb. 26, warning that minor to moderate flooding is expected this spring while the risk for major flooding remains low. A new forecast will be issued on March 12 to update conditions. Valley News Live

- ➤ High school hockey in the east region, including Grand Forks teams (with petitions due Sept. 1), faces potential changes to game scheduling and league points as meetings discuss adding non-league matchups and guaranteed contests with new teams starting next season. Knox News Radio
