On April 6, 229 veterans gathered at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks to receive travel details for an upcoming Honor Flight trip to Washington, D.C. on April 20 — family members and veterans shared their anticipation as they learned what they needed for the journey.

Grand Forks Fire Department responded just after 5 a.m. Sunday morning to the Stay Inn on North 42nd Street — crews encountered smoke and upgraded the alarm, later finding that a malfunctioning bathroom fan caused a fire that damaged one unit with no injuries.
