CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Police arrested 32-year-old Terry Wilson on Sunday after he allegedly attacked an employee at Hugo’s Family Marketplace on Demers Ave—he now faces charges including disorderly conduct, interfering with an emergency call, obstructing a peace officer, criminal trespass, aggravated assault and menacing. - ➤ Five people—Alonso Meija, Candice Valdez, Justin Morin, Allison Moran and Vicki Sherven—have been indicted on charges of conspiracy to distribute drugs after traveling between Arizona, Colorado and North Dakota to pick up and transport controlled substances including methamphetamine, opiate pills and fentanyl tablets in communities across North Dakota, and their jury trial will begin May 6. - ➤ On Tuesday, the North Dakota House passed a bill by a 64 to 29 vote that sets the rules for charter schools to be open to all and to offer no religious curriculum. The measure now heads to the Senate for an amendment vote as Governor Kelly Armstrong supports the bill and proposes increased funding, which would make North Dakota the 47th state to allow charter schools.
