- ➤ The Veterans Honor Flight of ND/MN has added a fifth flight this November from Grand Forks International Airport to cut a 900-person waiting list dating back to 2024. Each flight is free for veterans (costing about $290,000 and funded by donations). Knox News Radio
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The UND Bookstore moved to 2600 Red Jarrett Way, Suite 3 after both locations closed on April 9; it reopened on April 10 for Admitted Student Day. It will open on April 13 and host a grand opening on May 6 (details forthcoming) to serve students, faculty, and community members. Knox News Radio
- ➤ The Together For School Meals coalition turned in over 57,000 signatures on Thursday to qualify a measure for free school meals on the November ballot. If approved, public schools will offer one free breakfast and lunch to all K-12 students beginning in the 2027 to 2028 school year. Valley News Live

- ➤ Junior defenseman Jake Livanavage signed a two-year entry-level deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday morning; his contract runs from the 2025-26 season through the 2026-27 season, and he is expected to debut in the NHL soon after a standout UND career (117 games and top NCHC honors).
