🚧 Accidents
Just after 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, the Grand Forks Fire Department responded to an aviation gas tanker accident on Airport Drive where crews contained a substantial avgas leak using sand, containers, and foam while Interstate Towing uprighted the truck with an estimated 200-500 gallons lost.
🎓 Education
Revised textbooks on the Native American tribes will be ready for next school year after a joint effort by the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction, five tribes, and cultural and educational groups began in 2023 using federal grant money— the books had not been updated for about 30 years due to funding issues.
🏛️ Government
The state Legislature approved a proposal to have the insurance commissioner’s office assume the securities department’s duties as 10 full-time employees will transfer to the insurance unit—Governor Armstrong will sign the bill soon.
Grand Forks city officials spent $15,000 on a recent trip to Belgium to tour Agristo facilities for five employees and Agristo will soon open its North American operation in the city.
