  • Local students learned boat driving and water safety skills during the Safe Kids Grand Forks program (teaching proper life jacket use and hypothermia awareness) as part of its 29th year event reaching nearly 800 students from 18 schools this summer.  Knox News Radio

HEALTH NEWS

  • Vonnie Larvie from New Town had a rare dual kidney transplant in Fargo after years on dialysis from a genetic disorder. She now tells her story to bring hope to others waiting for a transplant while doctors remind everyone of the need for more organ donations.  Valley News Live

SPORTS NEWS

  • UND softball dropped the rubber game against South Dakota on Monday at Albrecht Field, falling 7-5 with four home runs hit. The loss drops their record to 25-18 overall, and they face Minnesota at 5 p.m. Tuesday.  Knox News Radio
  • North Dakota women's basketball signed Mia Jacobson as a new guard for the 2026-27 freshman class after coach Dennis Hutter announced her addition on Monday. The 6-1 guard from Westview High School in San Diego is expected to boost the Fighting Hawks' performance.  Knox News Radio
  • The Grand Forks Spitfires signed their first player on Mar. 26 when they added catcher and utility player Ally Hetzel to the inaugural 2026 roster. This historic move marks a milestone for the local team.  Knox News Radio
