- ➤ Cazmere Haskins, who was 17 when he was arrested in March 2024 for killing Anfernee Economy outside an apartment complex, pleaded guilty to the murder and was sentenced to 40 years in prison—he filed his appeal 11 days later. Valley News Live
- ➤ Grand Forks police said that a man aged 43, Abdi Ahmedali, took a stranger at gunpoint from the parking lot of a Washington Street store and forced the victim to drive him to the Grand Forks Islamic Center to pray—then the victim drove away and called for help. Knox News Radio

- ➤ Gov. Armstrong vetoed the library bill that would have changed how libraries are funded—he said it would prevent cuts that many feared could weaken services. Lawmakers now say they must find another way to support local libraries. Valley News Live
