White Earth Nation held a ribbon cutting on Tuesday, April 28 for its new tribally owned cannabis dispensary, Waabigwan Mashkiki, at 926 Central Avenue Northwest in East Grand Forks, rehabbing a former Burger King to boost the local tax base with the grand opening set for Friday, May 1.

The Grand Forks School Board approved hiring two new assistant superintendents.

Chris Triggs, coming from the Pingree-Buchanan School District, will lead elementary education while Kristopher Arason, formerly Red River High School’s principal, will oversee secondary education as their roles fill vacancies from recent resignations.

UND men's basketball Head Coach Paul Sather announced the addition of guard Tyler Wagner on Monday; the Minnesota native, who played for Austin Peay & won three state championships in high school, now has three years of eligibility at UND.
