- ➤ Thomas Lofgren of Hawley was arrested on April 28th after police said he chased a woman trying to reach her car after work in Grand Forks+ he demanded cigarettes then threatened to kill her and he is set to appear in court on June 9th. Valley News Live
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ North Dakota Gov. Kelly Armstrong signed three bills that aim to create off-ramps from the criminal justice system—making it easier for people to comply with probation and rejoin society. Officials said the laws, based on a 2023 study and input from the corrections department and the Department of Health and Human Services, will lower repeat offenses and save money. Knox News Radio
- ➤ State lawmakers moved the Attorney General’s budget forward without the vape registry requirement to help small businesses, and the Senate is expected to pass the bill today.
