Gov. Kelly Armstrong ordered all state agencies to fly the U.S. and North Dakota flags at half-staff on Sunday, May 4 in honor of Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend and the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service.

He also urged residents to display the flags at homes and businesses as a tribute, following state law and a presidential directive.

North Dakota House Majority Leader Mike Lefor said a conference committee reached an agreement on a property tax relief and reform bill that provides a $1,600 primary residence tax credit — the bill also maintains a 3% cap on future increases in local property tax budgets, and Lefor expects Governor Kelly Armstrong to sign it soon.

North Dakota Today reported that the Parade of Homes Spring Edition will showcase local residences with updated designs—officials said more details on the schedule and locations will be released soon.
