- ➤ On Tuesday, May 6th, a traffic stop in Fargo led ICE and agents from Grand Forks to arrest eight men believed to be in the U.S. illegally because they were a public safety risk; the men were then transferred to Enforcement and Removal Operations. Valley News Live
- ➤ An 18-year-old from Grafton intentionally hit a juvenile girl with her car while drunk on May 3 (her blood alcohol level was .144 just after 1:00 a.m.) and then drove away; she faces charges of aggravated assault, DUI, and reckless endangerment in Grand Forks County Court while the girl survives with a limp. - ➤ A North Carolina man was arrested on Tuesday after a high-speed chase in Grand Forks when officers pursued his 2003 Chevrolet Silverado through Demers Ave and Lincoln Park before using a third PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle, and he faces charges of reckless driving, reckless endangerment, fleeing in a motor vehicle, & attempted assault on a law enforcement officer. - ➤ Grand Forks mayor Brandon Bochenski said Agristo will break ground in 2026 on a $450 million processing plant that will be the company’s first U.S. facility and is expected to boost the local potato industry. Lawmakers approved $30 million in state incentives and Agristo secured land from Fufeng USA—after concerns at Grand Forks Air Force Base led to canceling an earlier deal—with the project outbidding competitors. - ➤ Grand Forks Mayor Brandon Bochenski will give his State of the City address today at 4:00 p.m. at the Alerus Center — the free event is co-hosted by the Chamber of Grand Forks and East Grand Forks and will be available live in person or online. Knox News Radio
- ➤ Governor Kelly Armstrong signed a bill to raise the interstate speed limit to 80 mph — the new limit will not take effect until August 1 when North Dakota joins South Dakota and Montana in the higher speed limit. Knox News Radio
