- ➤ On Sunday afternoon, the Grand Forks Fire Department responded to a home on 9th Ave North where unattended cooking sparked visible flames and thick smoke and the homeowner used a garden hose to control the fire—causing kitchen damage and light smoke damage on the main floor while all residents and pets remained safe as crews coordinated with police and ambulance. - ➤ Former state senator Tom Campbell—whose family built the Campbell Farms potato enterprise—was appointed as North Dakota’s USDA Rural Development state director.
