ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Crews continue clearing a derailed BNSF train with 11 grain cars just north of Churchs Ferry last week—only five cars have been cleared so far and no injuries were reported, while BNSF expects full operations to resume by the end of the week. Valley News Live
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ The Impact Dakota support program lost its federal funding renewal on April 1—more than $800,000 for the year—which left it with only six months of support, CEO Jodie Mjoen said. The agency now relies on fee-based projects for matching funds and is working on a plan to cover the funding gap. Knox News Radio

- ➤ Grand Forks approved a water main project near Highway 81 that will add water service and fire protection to properties from 27th Avenue North to 33rd Avenue North and along Mill Road. The project is estimated to cost $1.68 million—up from the original $1.1 million—and will be funded through special assessments plus an anticipated state cost share. Knox News Radio
- ➤ Grand Forks County & City of Grand Forks are under an outdoor burn ban until Friday due to dry conditions that led officials to respond to several fires. Residents are asked not to burn trees, grass, leaves or ditches to help keep the area safe. Knox News Radio
