  • North Dakota State Superintendent Kirsten Baesler's nomination for assistant secretary of elementary and secondary education advanced to the full Senate after a 12+11 committee vote along party lines, and if confirmed she will resign so Gov. Kelly Armstrong can name her successor to serve until the 2026 election.  Knox News Radio

HEALTH NEWS

  • Two measles cases in Grand Forks County have been confirmed by HHS—both linked to international travel. Health officials said the state now has 21 cases reported since May 2—mainly among unvaccinated individuals.  Valley News Live

SPORTS NEWS

  • Local track and field athletes won titles at the state tournament in Bismarck Friday. West Fargo’s Jolee Dahl (in her first attempt) cleared 11 foot, nine inch on the pole vault, while Kindred’s Presley Peraza and Hillsboro/Central Valley seventh grader Claire Grinde added titles; the tournament will conclude Saturday in Bismarck.  Valley News Live
