- ➤ 10-year-old Ashlynn Shepperd cut her hair on Tuesday morning in the gym at the Grand Forks Air Force Base school—she donated the 24 inches to help kids with cancer, including friend T.J. Snider. Knox News Radio
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Crews have closed South 23rd Street at its intersection with 11th Avenue South in Grand Forks—this closure, part of a storm water improvement project, is expected to last three weeks weather permitting. Knox News Radio
- ➤ Grand Forks hired outside legal help from Swanson and Warcup, Ltd. because it shares a lawyer with the Water Resource District and needs help with the Drain 4 project—part of the city's flood plan that must be reviewed by the U.S. Army Corps and finalized with a land transfer deal. - ➤ Crews will close 2nd Avenue North at the North Columbia Road intersection starting June 2 for phase 1 of a three-phase reconstruction project that will rebuild the street from North Columbia Road to North 23rd Street - detour signs will be posted and eastern access to athletic facilities will remain, and the work is expected to finish by mid-September, weather permitting.
