- ➤ A local man pleaded guilty to a meth trafficking charge and was sentenced June 2 to 162 months in jail with credit for time served; he will serve part of his sentence in a facility with a substance abuse treatment program and face 10 years of supervised release after distributing 135 grams on August 8 and possessing 200 grams on August 12 in 2024—charges tied to his actions in and around Grand Forks. - ➤ Last month, Adam Kuhn, owner of AK Tile LLC, lost $12,500 to a scam when he followed a call from someone claiming to be from PayPal’s fraud department—he was instructed to deposit cash into a Bitcoin machine and now his bank and local detectives are investigating the fraud. Valley News Live
- ➤ A Grand Forks woman was sentenced in Becker County Court for assault after a September 8 incident in Detroit Lakes where she hit and bit her boyfriend—she received a 364-day sentence with 319 days stayed, will serve 45 days in jail, face two years of supervised probation, and pay a $1,585 fine.
