CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On June 11, the Highway Patrol stopped a car on I-29 between Thompson and Reynolds for illegal window tint and found an explosive device that led to a quick detonation by the Grand Forks Bomb Squad—two Fargo men now face felony charges. Valley News Live
- ➤ A 19-year-old motorcyclist fled a trooper on I-29 near mile marker 108 and crashed on Traill County Road 81 on May 31, suffering road rash, wrist deformities and a bleeding cut (he now faces charges of reckless endangerment and fleeing a police officer) before being transported from the Hillsboro Armory to Fargo by life flight. - ➤ A St. Michael man pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter after an intoxicated driving crash on the Spirit Lake Reservation in 2022 that killed a passenger + he was sentenced to 63 months in federal prison followed by 3 years of supervised release and ordered to pay $2,000 in restitution. - ➤ The ND Department of Environmental Quality is monitoring smoke from Canadian wildfires that under current weather conditions are reaching ND so residents can check local air quality on AirNow.gov & take precautions. The agency uses its air sampling network to provide timely data across the state. Knox News Radio
