ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A suspected accidental gun discharge near the 4000 block of 5th Ave N just before 2 a.m. injured one person, who was taken to a hospital in a private vehicle with non-life-threatening injuries—police seized the firearm and continue investigating.  Valley News Live

  • Midco announced network upgrades in Grand Forks that will bring multi-gigabit internet speeds to homes and businesses with a $4.5 million investment as part of a total $13.1 million project. Over the next four years, the network will offer symmetrical 1 Gbps plans with an option for 2 Gbps service to extend fast and reliable fiber connectivity across the area.  Valley News Live

  • Since April 1, Highway Patrol officers tracked four fleeing motorcycle drivers in the southeast region and on May 30, three motorcyclists were captured in Fargo using aircraft technology—Captain Bryan Niewind said warm summer weather makes riders more likely to drive dangerously while most drivers obey the law.  Valley News Live
  • Early Monday morning, Grand Forks Police responded to a report of an accidental handgun discharge inside an apartment on 5th Avenue North—one victim with non-life-threatening injuries was taken by private vehicle to a hospital—while investigators interviewed witnesses and secured the firearm, confirming no public threat.  Knox News Radio

  • New NDGOP leaders expressed disappointment after Governor Kelly Armstrong vetoed a bill that would have banned obscene books in public and school libraries during the legislative session. Party chairman Matthew Simon said the veto does not protect children — a move that highlights differences within the party.  Valley News Live
  • Grand Forks is expected to appoint an interim fire chief after Gary Lorenz was unanimously voted as Fargo’s new chief & is set to leave his current role before a permanent candidate is selected. Mayor Brandon Bochenski will choose the interim chief to manage the transition period.  Knox News Radio
