- ➤ A Grand Forks correctional officer, Juan Ortiz Lopez, was arrested on June 16 for allegedly smuggling an electronic device to an inmate (a C felony offense) after a June 13 tip led investigators to question him at work and search jail cells that uncovered a cell phone and charger. - ➤ Conflicts between Israel and Iran have put the energy industry on high alert—an official said North Dakota, which is an oil price taker, must accept the market price that global supply and demand set with crude oil now at about $61 per barrel. Valley News Live
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Ground broke Tuesday on the expansion of Altru’s Behavioral Health Center in Grand Forks that will add 24 beds to its current 18 adult and 6 adolescent beds & officials including Governor Kelly Armstrong and Representative Emily O’Brien secured key funding at the event. The center is expected to open by Fall of 2026 & will provide improved mental health care in the community. Valley News Live
