A ceremony to dedicate the new Griggs Park Playground honoring longtime parks employee Dave Aker (died in 2024 at 66) will be held tomorrow in East Grand Forks.

The park, built by the city with American Crystal Sugar, Polk County Social Services and the Aker family, cost up to $95,000.

A fire at the Grandview II apartment complex on Friday at 4:30 p.m. led to resident displacement at 1950 S.

34th St in Grand Forks (no injuries were reported) as crews quickly controlled the kitchen blaze.

Allegiant Air has paused its summer flights at Grand Forks International Airport but will resume service later this year + flights to Las Vegas restart in September, to Phoenix/Mesa in November, and Orlando/Sanford service is set for spring break 2027.
