- ➤ The Sertoma of Greater Grand Forks will host a free 4th of July Festival on July 4th at Sertoma Park (34th Street and 11th Avenue) with a kids parade starting at 11am and activities running until 6pm. A fireworks display will follow at 10:30pm in South Grand Forks (20th Street and 47th Avenue), closing the day of celebrations. Knox News Radio
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Pembina County man Charles Dalzell, 46, was arraigned on a federal indictment charging him with two counts—one for influencing a federal official by threat and another for interstate communications with a threat to kidnap or injure—after he allegedly emailed state and federal officials including Governor Kelly Armstrong, Attorney General Drew Wrigley, and District Judge Kari Agotness following violent shootings. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ North Dakota’s agriculture department updated its online Local Foods Map to mark farmers markets that accept SNAP benefits with a yellow star+a change aimed at helping residents locate fresh produce. Keith Knudson, executive director of the Farmers Market and Growers Association, said the update will support rural areas with limited fresh food options+and assist markets in communities facing grocery closures. - ➤ Barrels are in place on South Washington Street near the 28th Avenue South intersection as crews start construction today, reducing traffic to one lane in each direction with left turns banned and 28th Avenue South allowing only right turns until July 6. After July 6, northbound traffic will open fully while southbound traffic remains limited, and the city said the project will take about one month—weather permitting. Knox News Radio
