Tribal officials announced that the water on Spirit Lake Reservation is now safe to drink after manganese levels returned to safe levels and the ban in place since May 27 has been lifted.

🚧 Accidents
Witnesses said a paraglider crashed into the Red River Tuesday evening near the Riverside Dam boat ramp+ rescue crews responded around 8:38 p.m. and the pilot was not hurt.
🚨 Crime
Police investigated a reported shooting at Frazee Rest Area near Grand Forks on July 9th and have not released details regarding injuries or arrests—investigations are ongoing.
🏛️ Government
The East Grand Forks City Council is considering renovations for Fire Station Two including a new roof—officials will review options at upcoming meetings to decide on the next steps.
The Grand Forks Planning and Zoning Commission voted to remove the mural at the School for Blind during a recent meeting — officials will review the artwork before finalizing its removal.
🏥 Health
The Grand Forks mosquito control program confirmed West Nile virus in local mosquitoes — residents are urged to cover up and use repellent to prevent bites.
There have been no human cases so far.
