  • St. Anne’s Guest Home is launching a matching gift campaign this July to support nearly 60 elderly and disabled residents. The campaign will end on July 26 — and it has drawn record support from over 30 local businesses, churches and individuals amid rising costs.  Knox News Radio

  • Grand Forks Police responded to a semi roll over on South Columbia Road and Demers Avenue when a 2012 Kenworth truck operated by Scott Winkler tipped while turning, spilling material onto the berm—no injuries were reported and no citations issued.  Knox News Radio

  • Farmers in the region face lower commodity prices and higher fertilizer costs as tariffs add to their worries, state senator and agricultural producer Janne Myrdal said today — she noted that the president urged farmers to hang in there while she remains confident in long-term benefits despite a tough year.  Valley News Live

EDUCATION NEWS

  • North Dakota after-school programs are in limbo as frozen federal grants pause teacher training and force schools to scramble. The U.S. Office of Management and Budget withheld $6.8 billion in education grants nationwide, including about $25.4 million (15% of the state’s annual K-12 funding) with around $6.5 million earmarked for 21st Century Community Learning programs.  Knox News Radio

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Today, Governor Kelly Armstrong broke ground at the North Dakota Heritage Center and State Museum on a new Military Gallery honoring the state’s service members and veterans. The project is funded with $15 million from the Strategic Investment and Improvements Fund plus a $20 million line of credit and $4.2 million for repayment that will be matched by nearly $39 million in private contributions.  Knox News Radio
