A large fire broke out at a fertilizer storage facility in Deering on Wednesday morning—volunteer firefighter Myron Mogard said he received the call before 6 a.m. and crews from Deering, Surrey and Minot Rural responded while letting the fire burn down for safety, with no injuries and the cause under investigation.

Tracey Hangsleben (50) sold 40 fentanyl pills to an informant in January 2024 in exchange for $1,000, pleaded guilty to a felony, and was sentenced to 73 months while three additional charges were dismissed under a plea agreement.
