Greater Grand Forks Young Professionals are hosting a regional summit at the Alerus Center today and tomorrow to offer networking and career development opportunities for young professionals.

The University of North Dakota is launching new degree programs in aerospace, law and nursing to fill key state workforce gaps.

It will offer a Bachelor of Science in Helicopter Operations, an accelerated joint M.S./J.D program, plus master’s and doctorate programs in gerontology care.

Riverside Christian School in East Grand Forks will construct a new building in Grand Forks as enrollment grows (high school up 50% and middle school up 25%); after dropping plans at a former Macy’s site near Scheels, it secured a donated property in south Grand Forks for future use.

Doctors at Sanford Health in Grand Forks urge parents to vaccinate children before school begins as measles cases reach a 35-year high; 4 cases were reported locally and 1 in Cass County (according to health officials).

Avery Scott received a temporary restraining order from a Grand Forks County judge on Monday that lets him practice with the Fighting Hawks while his eligibility case is pending; his hearing is set for Aug.

18 at 9:00 a.m., and teammate Jonnie Wiltshire faces a similar ruling with a hearing on Aug. 14.
