- ➤ City Administrator Todd Feland said the proposed Agistro Plant may create nearly 4,900 construction jobs over three years and add between 59 and 99 students to local schools—boosting regional development with an estimated $150,000 million investment in potato storage and processing. - ➤ The Grand Forks School Board set draft school boundaries for the 2026-2027 school year due to growing student populations — final guidelines will be established by the end of summer. The board will meet on August 14 to discuss specific changes — the plans remain preliminary. Knox News Radio
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Grand Forks County Commission is considering a 3% tax increase for the 2026 budget — it plans to use cash in reserves to comply with a new state law capping tax rises. The vote is scheduled for Tuesday August 5, and the county estimates having over $14 million in reserves with the new budget set at $55.9 million — about $5 million less than this year’s allocation.
