  • The North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality is monitoring Canadian wildfires that are expected to lower air quality in the coming days and warns sensitive groups—people with lung disease, asthma and older adults—to avoid heavy outdoor effort. Residents are advised to reduce activities that add to pollution and check AirNow.gov for current conditions.  Knox News Radio

  • House Minority Leader Zac Ista from Grand Forks asked for an advisory opinion from the state Ethics Commission after receiving an all-expenses-paid, five-day educational trip in September from Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs+ Ista said he has not yet decided whether to attend while noting the trip will show Israel's own perspectives on culture and government.  Knox News Radio
  • Today the state expanded its medical marijuana program to include low-dose THC edibles with 5 mg per serving and 50 mg per package — the change also makes medical cards valid for two years, offers telehealth screenings and allows out-of-state cardholders to get a temporary 60-day card, while edibles will be available later this month.  Valley News Live
  • Demers Avenue in Grand Forks will have one lane in each direction starting Monday, August 4 for repair work on the Columbia Road Overpass—lane closures that will last two weeks, weather permitting.  Knox News Radio
