🚧 Accidents
Lightning struck two homes in East Grand Forks Monday morning, causing significant damage; one home is no longer livable and the roof of another collapsed—firefighters from both cities responded quickly with no injuries reported.
🎓 Education
South Middle School’s PTO is raising $100,000 to build two half sized basketball courts and foursquare courts next July and has raised $3,000 with matching funds from the Grand Forks Park District up to $25,000 — an open house is set for Monday, Aug.

The North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality is accepting proposals for FY 2027 water quality improvement grants to support locally led projects that lessen nonpoint source pollution in rivers, lakes & streams, using updated templates that simplify applications.
