Job Service North Dakota and Leighton Media will host the Grand Cities Fall Job Fair on Thursday, Sept.
10 from 1pm to 4pm at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks + visitors can meet employers and tour the Grand Forks Workforce Center to explore new career opportunities.
🏛️ Government
Gov. Kelly Armstrong declared a drought emergency Tuesday for counties and tribal nations facing severe dry conditions and activated a livestock water assistance program.
The program offers up to $10K per project and $2M overall in funding to help local producers build water projects (using oil and gas tax revenue).
Grand Forks City Council approved steps on Monday to plan a senior care facility near Sertoma Park + Altru Health System at Duke Drive and South 34th Street, which could include 240 living units for different care needs.
The council also changed zoning to prepare for a possible fourth Valley Senior Living facility.
🏈 Sports
At Cushman Field Tuesday, Fargo South beat Grand Forks Red River 2-1 in the EDC soccer opener, with Johnnie Nathan scoring first and Ethan Eiler netting the winning goal after a brief tie, and Red River will face West Fargo next Tuesday.
Grand Forks Red River girls golf finished third at the East-West event in Jamestown this week after posting rounds of 325 at Hillcrest on Monday and 344 at the Jamestown Country Club on Tuesday.
The team will compete in Wahpeton on Thursday.
