- ➤ Grand Forks police arrested 48-year-old Clint Smith after he allegedly fought with officers on Demers Avenue following a trespass notice from Northlands Rescue Mission, and he now faces charges of terrorizing, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest. Knox News Radio
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ College students at MSUM & Bemidji State are moving in today at 9 a.m., while move-in days for other local universities range from tomorrow to Aug. 25. Valley News Live
- ➤ The University of North Dakota will welcome about 2,500 first-year students Saturday—its largest freshman class in 142 years. Officials said overall enrollment will hit record levels after Census Day in late September. Valley News Live
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ A study found that Grand Forks County will need over 2,300 new housing units by 2030. To meet this need, the county must add nearly 500 new homes per year—far exceeding its current rate of about 25 permits annually. Knox News Radio

- ➤ Central drew 1-1 with Shanley in the EDC opener on Tuesday night as Brady Kirkeby scored in the sixth minute and Darik Stevens tied the game in the 79th minute. All-State keeper Rylan Dobrovolny made key saves—preserving the tie—and Central will play at Fargo North tonight. Knox News Radio
- ➤ NDSU released the Bison men's basketball schedule for the 2025-26 season, showing an exhibition game in Minneapolis on October 16 plus another in Fargo on October 23—both set to kick off a season that will open in Oregon against Oregon State and continue with back-to-back home games at Scheels Center on November 11 and 12—while conference play begins on December 31 against South Dakota.
