Grand Forks Police arrested Rene Saenz Jr. for aggravated assault and resisting arrest after a dispute with his alleged girlfriend, with reports stating he beat her during the incident—he admitted to slapping her twice.
The average gasoline price in Grand Forks ranged from $2.65 to $2.75 per gallon, while the statewide price remained at $2.85 from nearly 500 stations reported by Gas Buddy dot Com.
That price was three cents lower than a month ago and 35 cents lower than a year ago as the national average climbed to $3.12.
Attorney General Drew Wrigley and 44 other AGs signed a letter on August 25 urging 13 companies that use AI to improve child protection after concerns over Meta’s systems engaging in inappropriate behavior with minors—co-sponsors include AGs from Tennessee, Illinois, North Carolina and South Carolina. The letter warns that companies will be held accountable if harmful content reaches children.
The City of Grand Forks signed a development agreement with Agristo— a European company —to build a new potato processing facility that will create 300 to 350 jobs and offer a local market for high-value crops, with state funding playing a key role in securing the project.
