🎓 Education
Grand Forks Public School District will continue its Encore after-school program for 529 students at 10 elementary schools by using $213,000 from its general fund despite missing federal support.
The district may reapply for funding in 2030 as wait lists grow at six schools.
North Dakota's State Board of Higher Education voted last Thursday to remove the TikTok ban on university devices — letting campuses now request access after security changes and U.S.-based joint venture updates addressed earlier concerns.

Grand Forks Central (the Knights) edged Bismarck St. Mary’s 14-7 on Friday when quarterback Brody Leddige threw a 59-yard touchdown pass to Jayden Cochran, marking his return from a preseason leg injury.
The team will face Jamestown (Friday night) at Cushman Field.
Red River won two to one matches over Legacy and North at the annual East West Crossover in Bismarck and lost four other games, while Central beat Williston before losing five matches.
Central will start conference play Tuesday at Shanley — Red River will play at home against Davies Thursday.
