ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Late last week, Grand Forks police responded to a two-vehicle accident at the South Columbia Road and 24th Avenue South intersection when a 2023 Kawasaki ZX636 motorcycle driven by a 22-year-old male struck a 2002 Toyota Tacoma attempting a left turn—causing serious injuries to the motorcycle rider who was taken to Altru while traffic was delayed for about 90 minutes. - ➤ Highway Patrol said a Ford Escape driven by a 70-year-old woman from Cavalier struck a pick-up driven by a juvenile head-on when it overtook a farm implement in dense fog on ND Highway 17 near Grafton—both vehicles were taken to local hospitals. Knox News Radio
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Officers responded to a drive-by shooting at a home in the Christine area on Monday morning and the Richland County Sheriff’s Office—assisted by the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation—investigated the incident, which appeared isolated with no danger to the public. Valley News Live
- ➤ On Sunday at around 4:30 a.m., 911 calls reported gunshots on the 500 block of 4th Avenue North in Grand Forks where officers found a male victim with a gunshot wound who was taken to Altru Hospital—witnesses noted a dark-colored sport utility vehicle leaving and the police urged local residents to review home security footage. - ➤ A new Ethics Commission report—released after the fiscal year ended June 30—shows that most of the 158 complaints received since 2019 were closed in fewer than six months without a full investigation.
