- ➤ Grand Forks police responded to an accident at the intersection of South Columbia Road and 24th Avenue South—where a motorcycle rider sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital while the pick-up driver and passenger remained unharmed and traffic backed up during the investigation. ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Gasoline prices in Grand Forks now range from $2.65 to $2.89 with an average of $2.86 after dropping one cent last week, according to GasBuddy — state prices vary from $2.56 to $3.79 while the national average is $3.15. Knox News Radio
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Regional offices in North Dakota have expanded housing aid services using increased state funding—$10 million for homelessness prevention with $2 million allocated to Community Action Agencies—to help people quickly secure rental assistance and rapid re-housing. Andrea Werner, director of the Bismarck office, said the programming was in place by early September. Knox News Radio
- ➤ The Bureau of Land Management is holding a lease sale today at the Freedom Mine north of Beulah — Coteau Properties has applied to lease 1,070 acres with about 18.3 million tons of recoverable coal, which could keep the mine in operation until 2045. The mine supplies coal for nearby power plants. Knox News Radio
