KNOX & 97 KYCK and Hugo’s Family Marketplace have opened nominations for the Great Tailgate Showdown, a contest to crown the best tailgate eats and drinks that lets residents nominate their favorites online.
🎓 Education
Grand Forks Public Schools officials are concerned after early enrollment data showed 70 to 100 fewer students than expected this school year.
They warn that if a November ballot measure for free school lunches passes, the district could incur up to $3 million in extra costs.
🏛️ Government
Developers expect the Ray Richards Golf Course redevelopment to proceed despite modified project terms after the County Commission approved a revised 20-year, 90 percent PILOT, with City Council scheduled to vote tonight at 5:30 so the project can move on to banking, design finalization and permit filings.
🏥 Health
NDSU's lab in Fargo reported that about 5% of bats tested in August were positive for rabies, with six bats and one skunk among 321 specimens.
Health officials advise residents to seek care if bats are found indoors + ensure pets are vaccinated.
