GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • North Dakota lawmakers acknowledged that action may be needed to protect mineral royalty owners as over a half-dozen suggest a committee study the issue and propose changes to state law before the next legislative session in 2027 — proposals include banning certain deductions from income shares. Lawmakers had previously rejected protection measures, and Sen. Chuck Walen said the topic will definitely come up again in 2027.  Knox News Radio

SPORTS NEWS

  • Central scored 44 to 21 against Dickinson Friday at Cushman Field — the team made 31 straight points in the second quarter to secure a 3-0 record and will travel to Watford City for non-conference play.  Knox News Radio
  • Sacred Heart won the WHA Tournament over the weekend by winning six matches in a format that required winning two sets out of three—pushing its record to 10 to 1—and will face Red Lake County Central on Tuesday.  Knox News Radio
