- ➤ The North Dakota Department of Public Instruction released an updated textbook on five Native nations that share land with the state. The book Journey to Understanding was updated after more than twenty years and will soon be sent to schools + a free digital version is available on the University of North Dakota Scholarly Commons website. - ➤ The U.S. Senate will vote soon on a proposal to repeal North Dakota’s public lands Resource Management Plan, a change that many say could weaken wildlife and water protections along the Missouri River—raising concerns among conservationists about added regulatory uncertainty for outdoor users and developers. - ➤ Safe Kids Grand Forks, Altru and community partners will host a Medication Take Back Event on Tuesday, September 23rd from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the parking lot beside Perkins on South Columbia Road to collect unused and expired medications and sharps placed in a solid plastic container—free cabinet locks, Poison Center magnets, and medication disposal bags will be offered while officials answer questions about safe storage.
