- ➤ The University of North Dakota is relaunching its Music Therapy bachelor’s degree and will mark the return with a guest lecture by Dr. Daniel Levitin on Tuesday, Sept 23 at 7 p.m. at the Hughes Fine Arts Center’s Josephine Campbell Recital Hall—his talk Music as Medicine is free and open to the public. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ North Dakota had 19 tornadoes on Sunday, September 14, and the total count reached 58, with officials saying the severe weather will likely break the record of 61 set in 1999 — the National Weather Service is finalizing the weekend's data. Valley News Live

- ➤ The Northern Occupational Safety and Health Association of Grand Forks is hosting a free Fall Safety Conference on September 24 at the Alerus Center for local employers, and the keynote speaker Drew Moldenhauer from Ethos Specialized Training (Ramsey) will discuss safety practices. - ➤ Research from the National Rural Health Association found that rural groups — especially male farmers, ranchers and agricultural managers — have suicide rates three-and-a-half times higher than the general population.
