- ➤ The Northlands Rescue Mission increased its bed capacity from 90 to 130 after volunteers added beds on September 17 to meet the growing need for shelter and prepare for winter. Leaders said the mission will soon launch a new Substance Abuse and Behavioral Health program and may add more beds pending fire marshal approval—showing strong community support. Valley News Live

- ➤ Curvy Divas, a local women’s apparel business, is now facing a lawsuit from Boston-based Eveden Inc.—the suit seeks over $33,000 in unpaid compensation for goods supplied from November 14 until July 31, as detailed in the invoices. Valley News Live

- ➤ Governor Kelly Armstrong said that North Dakota oil and gas companies now have new customers in tech firms that need natural gas to power data centers for artificial intelligence growth—tech firms once against natural gas are now key buyers. Knox News Radio

- ➤ The North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality warned hunters today to be careful of blue-green algae in wetlands and lakes—these toxins can make people and dogs very sick—while waterfowl hunting continues. Knox News Radio

- ➤ The City of East Grand Forks has a preliminary 12% tax levy planned for 2026. City Council Member Dale Helms said he aims to lower the rate to about 4—5% by working with the city administrator on the final budget. Knox News Radio
- ➤ Grand Forks International Airport is set to receive a more than $15 million FAA grant to rebuild its aging runway and taxiway pavement + update its lighting. The full $60 million project will be carried out in three phases from next year to 2028 with nearly $40 million in federal funding. Knox News Radio
