  • Disabled American Veterans Chapter #2 and Auxiliary will host their Annual Live Auction Fundraiser on Saturday, October 4th at noon at the East Grand Forks American Legion to raise funds for programs that help local veterans—food and refreshments will be available.  Knox News Radio

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Last week, the University of North Dakota broke ground on its new STEM Complex, a $163 million project that will serve over 6,000 students with modern classrooms, advanced labs and makerspaces—university leaders, state legislators, donors, faculty, students and community members attended the event. The project aims to drive innovation and support local growth in science and technology education.  Knox News Radio
  • The adult learning center in Grand Forks offers instruction to people 16 and older without a high school diploma or who need to improve their English skills—directed by the state education office. It is located at the Stanford Center on Stanford Road.  Knox News Radio

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Lt. Jenna Clawson Huibregtse of the Highway Patrol has been named a “40 Under 40” award recipient by the International Association of Chiefs of Police, which honors her strong leadership in law enforcement. She began her career as a traffic trooper in May 2015 and later became the first Cultural Liaison Officer in the state — a role that built new partnerships with tribal nations.  Knox News Radio
