CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A passerby in Grand Forks called police around 12:30 p.m. on September 23 reporting a woman's body in the river north of the Riverside Dam boat ramp on the west side—authorities responded promptly. Knox News Radio
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ North Dakota lawmakers approved a draft bill to set a clear process when the governor vetoes bills after a session — the plan calls for the Legislature to reconvene on the third Wednesday of June — and it comes after problems with Gov. Kelly Armstrong's line-item veto. Knox News Radio
- ➤ The North Dakota Legislature is forming an interim committee and planning a special session to manage $500 million in federal rural health care funds provided through the Rural Health Transformation Program. The program will give the state at least $100 million each year starting in 2026—Sarah Aker from the health department said. Knox News Radio
- ➤ Harwood Mayor Hankey said on the radio that repeated worries about the new AI data center—such as water use, noise, and electricity costs—have been answered and noted that most opposition comes from Fargo and Moorhead. The $3 billion facility by Applied Digital is being built a mile southeast with construction already begun and expected to continue through winter. Valley News Live
