On Wednesday, October 8, the community will gather at the Altru Family YMCA at 215 N 7th St. in Downtown Grand Forks for the 10th Annual Pumpkins for Parkinson’s Day, featuring pumpkins on display from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., a noon program, lunch, and a dessert contest.
Proceeds from the event will support Parkinson Wellness Recovery and Rock Steady Boxing programs.
Turning Point USA and its University of North Dakota student chapter will host a ticketed presentation with political commentator Glenn Beck on Oct.
9 at the Chester Fritz Performing Arts Center (CFPAC) in Grand Forks, with doors opening at 5 p.m. for students and 5:30 p.m. for the public, and security screening along with a strict no-reentry policy in effect.
Kirsten Baesler, North Dakota’s State Superintendent, took an important step Friday toward Senate confirmation as assistant secretary of elementary and secondary education in the U.S. Department of Education.
The Senate voted to allow a final confirmation vote and she will resign from state service to join the department once government onboarding resumes—her confirmation is expected next week.
