- ➤ University of North Dakota will celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day on Monday, Oct. 13 at 2 p.m. in the Memorial Union Small Ballroom as the Indigenous Student Center hosts guest speaker Anton Treuer while the event is streamed on Zoom for remote attendees. Knox News Radio
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Bank of North Dakota announced it will launch Roughrider coin—the state’s first stablecoin—in partnership with Fiserv to improve money transfers and bank transactions. President Don Morgan said the move will modernize banking and could allow North Dakotans to use the coin for daily transactions. Knox News Radio
- ➤ North Dakota approved a relief program on Wednesday that offers an estimated 9,200 federal workers low-interest loans to cover lost wages during the shutdown—loans to be repaid when the government reopens and workers receive back pay. Knox News Radio
