- ➤ Kylee Schmiesing became the first community health worker at Coal Country Community Health Center in October 2023—she assists patients in Beulah, Hazen, Center and Killdeer in managing conditions like COPD, congestive heart failure, hypertension, diabetes and chronic kidney disease under the Medicare Chronic Care Management program. Her work shows how community health workers connect residents with local health resources in rural areas. Knox News Radio
- ➤ As respiratory illness season approaches, Grand Forks Public Health urges everyone aged six months and older to get their flu and COVID-19 vaccines to prevent severe illness—vaccines are available on Walk-in Wednesdays on Oct. 15, 22, and 29 from 12 to 4 p.m. at the Grand Forks County Office Building.
