  • The Economic Development Association of North Dakota named local leaders to its board — Melissa Beach from Minnkota Power Cooperative will serve as president for a two-year term and Becca Cruger from the Grand Forks Region Economic Development Corporation joins as an at-large member — to boost economic efforts across the state.  Knox News Radio

HEALTH NEWS

  • Altru Health System will host free breast cancer screenings Tuesday, October 22 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Altru Cancer Center in Grand Forks and at clinics in Crookston and Devils Lake — the event is set to help people catch cancer early during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Knox News Radio
  • Jill Gutormson, a Sanford patient, delayed her mammogram until a lump led to a hormone-positive breast cancer diagnosis in 2022 — she began prompt treatment and will mark two years since completing chemotherapy on October 23 while continuing regular monitoring.  Valley News Live
